Rihanna Sued by Photographer David LaChapelle Over "S&M" Video

Rihanna's distorted Dionysian sexual decadence themed music video for "S&M" has been under prudent America's scrutiny magnifying glass since its release earlier this month, and aside from being the topic of "controversy" and "outrage," has now become suspect in a lawsuit filed by famed photographer David LaChapelle.

According to LaChapelle, the Rihanna camp shanghaied, or as put by the plaintiff party, "directly derived" concepts from a collection of eight photos taken by the aforementioned LaChapelle. More specifically, the lawsuit states that the “composition, total concept, feel, tone, mood, theme, colors, props, settings, decors, wardrobe and lighting of his work" were all unlawfully copied for the video.

The only thing I really know about this LaChapelle fellow is when he cameoed on Ondi Timoner's Rockumentary Dig! to shoot the video for The Dandy Warhols' song "Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth," and if I recall correctly, he was a huge doucher throughout his little flicker on the scene.

Rihanna dazzles at Grammys - but it's touch and go for Brits

WITH just a few strategically placed ruffles preserving her modesty, Rihanna makes sure her Grammys entrance is one to remember.

The Umbrella singer, 22, who is due to perform at tonight’s Brits, certainly turned heads at the star-studded awards in Los Angeles on Sunday – thanks to her revealing Jean Paul Gaultier gown.

Rihanna then changed into another flesh-flashing outfit to perform live with Eminem and Drake. But although she looked great, she didn’t feel it. Rihanna has been diagnosed with laryngitis and bronchitis and ordered not to talk for 24 hours – or risk having to pull out of the Brits at London’s O2 Arena, shown tonight on ITV1.

A source said: “She’s really ill. It’s touch and go about the Brits. She has a doctor on standby for vitamin shots in her bum and she’s been ordered to limit talking, which is difficult as she does like a good natter.”
